“I notice these latest models on all flatscreens do not have audio output by use of RCA cables using white and red leads which connects to the Stereo receiver. Does the HDMI port serve the same purpose now?”

• Hi, You can use the HDMI port to connect with external devices, this has HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC), USB port and has a bluetooth capable which you can connect wireless devices. ^Vanessa

• This LGTV comes with a Digital Audio Ouput, which requires a special cable to connect from the LGTV to a digital stereo. A non-digital stereo would require a DAO special adapter. Both items are inexpensive. An HDMI ready stereo connection is not the only way to have an external stereo experience.
