Currently, we are providing a short-form Proposition 65 warning on the packaging. However, a Prop 65 warning informs consumers of the potential for exposure to a listed chemical but is not a regulatory decision that a product is "safe" or "unsafe." The California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Proposition 65) requires the State of California to publish a list of chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity. Companies which do business in California are required to provide a Prop 65 warning on their product before knowingly exposing anyone to the ~900 chemicals listed. California requires that a warning be given if the potential for exposure to a listed chemical is above the No Significant Risk Levels (NSRLs) for carcinogens and/or the Maximum Allowable Dose Levels (MADLs) for reproductive toxicants. Additionally, we wanted to share the CA Proposition 65 office contact information for your reference if you have any questions about this regulation: phone (916) 445-6900 or email [email protected]. If you require more specific information on the warning, contact [email protected]. Sincerely, LG Environmental Compliance
