hi Jennifer, I had the same issue with my oven! I didn't purchase it at Best Buy but at a small retailer near where I live in New England. Turns out the LG has issued a firmware fix for this which requires 2 new control panels inside (it's like a circuit board) and new blower fan. After they replaced that, no more noise!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, This is a new range and I noticed it right away. It whines the whole time it is on regular or convection bake. Disappointing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, we have had for about 3 months and it makes a small whining sound. It is very faint and more noticeable after it is shut off so I assume it is the cooling fan running, but not sure
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, ours had the exact same issue. There was the typical fan noise as the oven was running but once it hit ~350C, this very annoying high pitch started. It seemed like it was from a different fan, not the large convection fan. The noise continued until the fan shut off, approx 20 minutes after we shut down the oven. We went back to the store and their floor model didn’t have that issue so it seems like it’s not every oven that exhibits that issue. We’ve since returned the oven and got a different brand. Unfortunately, LG appliances will never make their way back into our house
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Jennifer. The sound that you are describing is the convection fan in the LG 6.3 cu. ft. Gas Single Oven Slide-in Range with ProBake Convection® and EasyClean®, LSG4511ST which may periodically turn on and off and may continue to run for a short time after the oven is turned off. This is normal...^IFV
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.New lg range work great but noisy humming fan is unexceptable runs after which makes it probably go back
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. We had the LG repair guy out and he replaced the fan. Still hear the whining noise. He has worked on 3 other dual fuel stoves and none of the replacements have worked. I told him what another person posted about the fix with replacing circuit boards and the local tech department said they never heard of this fix. Would whoever posted that please tell me your state so that maybe the 2 departments can work this out? Thanks.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same issue and had a repair tech come out. He recommended replacing the cooling fan, so I showed him this message board and told him it wouldn’t fix the problem. He didn’t have any other solutions so he tried it anyway, and it actually worked! I was worried we would have to try the firmware solution the other poster recommended because the repair tech said they don’t do firmware (LG contracts with A&E for fixes). Anyway, if you have this issue, I can vouch that replacing the cooling fan is worth a try!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Jennifer, hope you get this answer - NO, it is not normal. I had the same problem. Reported it to Best Buy where I bought the range and they replaced it. Guess what? The replacement has the same issue. Repair man said it was the cooling fan. They removed the back of the stove, installed a new fan and they still could not find what was causing the noise. Right now we are just living with it, trying to decide what to do Any suggestions?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Our LG does the same thing. It is not the convection fan as LG stated. I comes on after a short period of time during normal operation and is most annoying when the oven turns off and this whining noise is present for another 15-20 minutes. Have a service call in and we'll see if they can stop the noise. Otherwise it will probably go back.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
