“Have an older 55" LG OLED. Center of screen has problems with colors. Lg knows the problem but wont fix because I lost my receipt. Do they still have problems with this or burn in? Thinking of replacing with another LG, still problems with them?”

OLED screens are susceptible to burn in, but it takes weeks of stationary video signals to cause this. I experienced burn in after 6 years of watching news and financial channels with the running information string at the bottom of the screen, but have never experienced a problem with the center of the screen. I have had more problems with lightning strikes taking the motherboard out. I would and did buy another LG OLED TV and have no problems with them. If you look at Sony, the OLED panel is still made by LG. OLED TVs are a lot like plasma TVs when it comes to burn in, Just avoid no changing video signals for extended periods of time and use the software to refresh the screen, or set it up to do,it automatically, and you should be OK.

It is rare for an average TV consumer to create an environment that could result in burn-in. Most cases of burn-in in televisions is a result of static images or on-screen elements displaying on the screen uninterrupted for many hours or days at a time – with brightness typically at peak levels. So, it is possible to create image retention in almost any display if one really tries hard enough. And even if image retention does occur from extreme usage, it can usually be mitigated within a short period of time by turning the display off for a while, and watching a few hours of varying content (such as your standard TV watching and channel-surfing). OLED TVs have special features and settings to preserve image quality and prevent burn in and image retention. First, under OLED Screen Saver there is the Pixel Refresher that calibrates any issues that may arise on the screen when your TV has been turned on for a long time. Calibration takes more than an hour. The second feature that can be employed is the Screen Shift feature which, moves the screen slightly at regular intervals to preserve image quality. A third option is the Logo Luminance Adjustment, which can detect static logos on the screen and reduce brightness to help decrease permanent image retention. ^Daphane
