In the menu settings for the 70UM6970PUA is a 'Just Scan' function that when turned on, allows you to view the content in the aspect ratio that is in the broadcast signal or content source. If the edge of the screen is not clean, then you would need to turn Just Scan off. Just Scan can be set to 'Auto' so it switches between On and Off status depending on the information contained in the video signal. ^CP
