Yes. We have an Apple TV and every app has upscaled so far. Direct TV Now and some of the older tv shows on Hulu look amazing. The tv actually alerts you to change the settings and the walkthrough to optimize is great. I think it supports up to 50 hrz

I have 2 flagship 78 inch Samsung curved models from the past two years and they upscale better than this TV, but they were also $9K TVs and are full array LED vs. edge lit. I tried this LG ecause of the 4 formats it offers and I am very happy with it. Great TV for the price. Samsung is not going Dolby Vision and I have a Dolby Atmos surround system, so I am screwed with my nice flagship Samsung’s. Great TV and is amazing on anything like Apple TV 4K, Roku 4K and XBox One X.
