Does this fit in a window that slides open vertically? My window opens vertically, left to right. Will this panel fit that direction?
Also, do you have to remove the window screen?

I just got off the phone with the call center in India and I was told that the hose goes out the window in order to get rid of the heat generated by the motor inside the unit. Additionally, I was told that it is a "self evaporating" unit and the water can be emptied by hand out of the back of the unit. ALSO, I explained that I have a window that opens side to side and its 50 inches tall she said that the extension kit that comes with the unit has several parts and that it should work for my window. THEREFORE THE VENT KIT supposedly works for up and down windows, side to side windows, and or casement windows. And, YES you must remove the screen. I'm just hoping that whoever answered above didn't know what they were talking about and at the call center actually does. I get my unit in two weeks I will keep you all posted!

This air conditioner only installs in windows that slide up and down, or casement-style windows.

I have the same window, it fit in mine, just had to use tape to keep the panel extended, no need to remove the screen.

Yes, it works just fine in vertical windows, just slightly trickier to install.
