Here's how: Connect the player to your Apple Play USB port in your vehicle and press the tray open button. Hold the tray open, then press and hold the tray open button again until the indicator light turns green. That's it...you've now changed the output of the player to MP3, which your vehicle will now recognize. However, the disc recognition may not work fully until you skip ahead on the track number to anything higher than track #1. My disk playback experienced audio interruptions until I performed this procedure. Then, it played ALL tracks perfectly. If I had known this a couple of years ago, I could have been enjoying my CD's in a vehicle that no longer offers and onboard CD player. Have fun!
