As long as you "finalize" the recording, which, generally speaking, allows it to play in most other CD/DVD readers/players, and assuming that your car stereo's disc player is compatible (the vast majority are), then you should have no problems.

Yes. I have burned CD-R and CD/RW and they both play in both of our cars as well as my home stereo.
