Yes, it should be compatible with your Lenovo Laptop. Am assuming that you are using either Windows 7/8/10 or Linux. If you have a Chromebook laptop, then no it is not. *short answer for that is Chrome OS does not have the drivers within the OS to recognize the drive.

These generic drivers provide full functionality to the devices they serve. This drive is able to both read and write to a CD or DVD. ^CP
