“I have a MacBook Pro and want to connect an external DVD drive THROUGH a USB hub (I am out of USB ports on my MacBook Pro). Will this work or not? Possible power problem?”

The LG Slim Portable DVD Writer DVD Disc Playback & DVD M-DISC™ Support, Model # SP80NB80 interfaces through the USB port and gets its power from the PC's USB port. If your USB Hub cannot provide the necessary power, the DVD Drive will not work. You can inquire about powered USB hubs and see if they can supply adequate power for this to work...^IFV
