“Can this be plugged into extension USB or does it have to go directly to PC port?”

• Long Answer -- Our new computer did not have the "A" type of PC port. Thus, we had to purchase a "C" to "A" port converter which has 4 "A" ports. So, short answer is YES it can be plugged into an extension USB and works great.
