Hello, Bigbenny! Thank you for sharing your question with us about the LG External Drive (SP80NB80). No, this Optical Drive is designed specifically for CDs and DVD, it does not support Blu‑ray playback. If your goal is to watch both Blu‑ray discs and DVDs on your PC, this unit will only handle the DVD portion. You can explore the full feature list and support details here: https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-8x-external-usb-double-layer-dvdrw-cd-rw-drive-black/JXTZZLCVZK. If you’d like further guidance on compatible Blu‑ray drives, please email us at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com and we’ll be glad to assist. — Avril
