That will depend on what you have the LG - 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive - Black, Model # SP80NB80 connected to. It comes with an Install Disc for Windows (Buyer Request) that you will need if you are connecting it to a PC/Laptop. The drive also has a TV Connectivity function where you do not need to install software. However, since the drive is defaulted to ODD mode when it is powered on, you will need to switch it to TV mode by pressing and holding the 'Eject' button for 2 seconds with the tray open. The disc file format will then be converted to FAT32 and will be recognized as USB flash memory...^IFV
