“My sister's Bose CD player died, and was told to get a cd player like this to ,and plug it in. Will this work? I have one but its attached to my tablet and i had to load software with it. suggestions on alternative for her?”

Connect the drive to one of the computer's USB ports and the computer will apply the appropriate software driver for the device. Should play the audio CD just fine. Your computer must have an internal speaker or you must have a speaker connected to the audio out port.
