• The optical drive is powered thru the USB port, but I doubt the head unit has the drivers or is set up to operate a free standing CD reader. Connecting one may be the best or only way to find out.

• This drive requires a supported Windows or Mac OS Operating System and specific system requirements for a hard disk drive, available memory, and video memory to operate normally. It will not work with your car stereo. ^Daphane
