I don't think this can be used in cars since most usb ports for playing music do not produce enough voltage for this.

This drive requires a supported Windows or Mac OS Operating System and specific system requirements for a hard disk drive, available memory, and video memory to operate normally. It will not work with your food truck stereo. ^Daphane
