This LG CD/DVD reader/writer is iOS and Mac compatible. The only cable that comes with the LG is a micro-B to standard (type A) USB cable, connecting between the LG device (micro-B) and your computer or whatever other device you're using (type A), respectively. If your device does not have a standard USB connector, then you may purchase an adapter available at most retail stores and online. Per the first sentence, no additional software is required, though, of course, there may be exceptions depending on a number of factors. You should be able to connect the LG to any iOS device, and then connect the iOS device to your Apple/Mac-based device, assuming, of course, that there is a compatible connection slot available.
