• This can read games on CD if they are compatible with the PC operating system that the drive is plugged into and that the game program is written in. Yes, this can be used with any new laptop with a standard USB 2.0 port.

• Works well with my new Dell Laptop and my old HP Laptop. Don't know about playing CD games, but probably will.
