“Placed photos on dvd disks years ago for storage and on many of them attached a printed label on it with a title. Looks nice BUT thickens the disk causing it difficult to playback on Apple iMac I have with a dvd built in the monitor which came w/my model”

wish I could test it for you, I have many CDs/DVDs, but all of ours are thermal printed, so it doesn't thicken the disc. Stickers, sticky notes and writing with a pen are all bad for your CD/DVDs, can totally ruin them :( I know many with those types of labels will not play. Hope you find an answer.
