- Answer It should be fine, my laptop runs Windows 10 and the drive was recognized immediately. Everything I've tried on it, CD's & DVD's, work just as well as the original drive.

QuestionIs this dvd/cd player region specific? Also, to have the cd/dvd disc pop out will it do it automatically or do you have push a button or pull it out of the usb port?

- Answer I do not recall if it is region specific, but it probably is NOT!!. You do have to push the button on it to open the door when you are finished with the DVD/CD

- Answer Yes, just plug it in and Windows will recognize it. If you plan on burn DVD you may need software, but nothing is required to read CD or DVD. Playing movies can be an issue if you computer doesn't have the software but you can download VLC media player for free if needed.
