- Answer I can't help you much, sorry. Not sure about the dual layer question. I bought this for my daughter so she could run a PC game on CD that she used to play when she was little. Re the software, question, I believe set-up instructions include a link to where you can download 2 or 3 utilities, including burning s/w. No s/w CD comes in the package.

QuestionI bought this to go with my new Samsung chromebook, and I hear the disk spinning but no sign pops up to show that it is working. Is it compatable? Maybe I did something wrong?

- Answer I used this with a desktop PC and it was a plug and play. I have tried a different brand in the past on a laptop and as you indicate, there was sounds coming from it but it wasn't being recognized by the laptop. The packaging indicates if there are issues with installing the product to call 800-243-0000. I would go that route before returning it to the place of purchase. Hope this helps.

- Answer Looking at the packaging; you may not be able to use this on a XP computer. The oldest it lists is Windows 7. You could call the manufacturers customer service and inquire. 800-243-0000.

- Answer There is no disk drive in this computer. You would have to purchase an external disk drive to load your cd.
