Light does go off after a bit. Not sure how long... I believe it's LED, and there are two, for redundancy, I assume.

As far as I can tell, the light stays on in that situation. I left the door ajar for over 5 minutes and the light stayed on. There could be a higher threshold, I suppose...

My oven failed, but from what I can recall, the light did eventually go out, I presume to save electricity. Why not just give it a quick wipe with paper towel or dish cloth, while it's still damp? You'll get a clean oven at the same time☺️
