If it says 'no disk' on the TV screen than it would not be your TV, 'no disk' suggests something wrong with the new player. Have you tried it with another device? Operation of the player would involve HDMI cable from player out to TV in, select correct HDMI input in TV menu or on remote, then put a playable Blue-ray or compatible DVD into tray and allow it to close. You should get the disk menu pretty quickly. Geek squad should be able to guide you over the phone. Good luck.
