“Does this player turn itself off? I want one that does NOT. I currently have one (another brand) that does so and hate finding my place over again after it shuts off (resume is not part of the blu ray standard, a serious regression from DVD) - thanks”

If the LG Blu-ray Disc™ Player with Streaming Services, Model # BP175 is left in Stop mode for about 5 minutes, the screen saver appears and if this option is set to [On], the unit automatically turns off within 15 minutes from when the screen saver is displayed. If you set the Stop Mode option to [Off], the screen saver will stay on until you operate the unit. The player has a 'Resume Playback' function that records the point where you press 'Stop'. If 'Resume Stop' appears on the screen, you can briefly press 'Play' to resume playback from the scene point. Pressing "Stop" twice or unloading the disc will "Complete Stop" appears on the display and the Stop Point is cleared. The unit also memorizes the the last scene from the last disc that you watched and the last scene remains in memory even if you remove the disc from the unit or switch off the unit. If you load a disc that has the scene memorized, the scene is automatically recalled. The Last Scene Memory function for a previous and the function may not work depending on the disc. On BD-ROM discs with BD-J, the last scene memory function does not work. This unit does not memorize settings of a disc if you switch off the unit before commencing to play it. disc is erased once a different disc is played...^IFV
