I don't remember the terminology, but I believe you have to make sure you close the disc after burning it. The BP175 model will play blue ray movies right from a flash drive. Although, it appears to have some problems there. It doesn't always display a current list of movies from the flash drive. I have have to unplug the unit from the outlet and let it set for about 20 seconds. Then when I plug it back in, it correctly displays the list of movies on my drive.

When a prohibited use of an unauthorized copy is detected, a message will be displayed and playback or copying will be interrupted. The LG - BP175 - Streaming Audio Blu-Ray Player - Black can play video, audio and photo files contained in the disc or USB device. This player supports USB flash drive/external HDD formatted in FAT32 and NTFS when accessing files (music, photo, movie). However, for BD-Live and Audio CD recording, use the USB flash drive / external HDD formatted in FAT32. ^CP
