Can this player play DVDs and Blu-ray DVD? null

Yep. Blu-Ray player is backwards compatible with DVDs. Primarily why I bought it.

I have played many of my DVDs in this unit without any issues at all. Blu-Ray works well also so anything I have tried has worked well. Nor sure about the Blu-Ray DVD as I am not familiar with that format but assume (always dangerous to do I know) if it handles the DVDs and Blu-Ray formats it will handle this format as well. I suggest that you go to the LG website and see if there is more details on the formats it covers, if not chat with customer service till you get the answers you need.
