• No, this unit can not read a VHS tape and the required operating systems for this unit include Windows 8/ Windows 7/ Windows Vista (X86, X64)/ Windows XP [Home Edition/ Professional/Media Center Edition] with SP3 or higher, Direct X 9.0 or Higher is required. ^Daphane
