It believe the phone must be set on sound and vibrate alert option
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.When my phone is set to vibrate with the headset connected it vibrates automatically. Make sure your phone is set to vibrate when you link it with the headset.

Go to your Sounds setting and ensure that Vibrate on Ring is turned on. Scroll down to Text Tone and select it; check Vibration at the beginning of this screen and ensure that it is not set to none. If you also what a text sound, scroll down and ensure it also is not set to none and that you have the sound of your choice selected. I hope this helps!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.To activate or deactivate the vibrate feature, press and hold the VOLUME UP button for 3 seconds. You will hear a beep when it turns on or off. That should do it.
