• Yes, the PiP let’s you choose how the screen is split. I use both my desktop and laptop during work from the same screen. You have to use the cables supplied with the monitor though

• You can have up to 4 display inputs shown at once so yes it would work with 2 laptops and to replace a multi-display setup.
