• Case has a closable flap over the power recharge port to keep out water Assuming you mean the IPhone's speakers + home button--both of which have a waterproof membrane that keeps water out & allows iPhone to be submerged in water (down to 5-6 feet?? for several minutes.

• It does cover both of them. There is a clear plastic on both the button and speakers. The plastic on the button is a lot thinner to allow your finger print to still work. I have dropped many phones in liquid with a lifeproof case and never ruined one. However, if my phone does become submerged, I am quick to retrieve it.
