Yes but the heat come out of the bottom of the heater and blows straight forward. So if you have a hi shag carpet I would not leave it in for hours and hours just to play it safe. The room I have mine is is a low shag carpet and I keep it on all night for around 8 to 10 hours and have never had an issue. It does have a timer so you can run in for a designated time and have it shot off. For the price it’sa very nice looking heater with nice options and it does a great job hearing my bedroom for the extra heat without cranking up my furnace. I have also set it on my hardwood floors in my living room and it heated up the whole living room nice and toasty no issues. I really love it and for being fake flames they look super real. Very happy with mine.
