“Whenever My computer is turned off and my cam is plugged in, it keeps blinking. Is there a way I can fix this besides repeatedly unplugging and plugging it in?”

Try plugging your webcam into a different USB port. Newer computers are equipped with one or more "always on" USB ports to accommodate charging of smartphones, etc.

I suspect what you have going on is your USB port remains "hot" when your computer is off, so there is power to the camera even though the system is shut down. Try plugging it into a different port and see if there is any change.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My Solution was to buy the cheapest USB switch and use it between the cam and the laptop, that fixed the problem for me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Make sure when you connect the plug from monitor to laptop, your laptop is turned on at that time (like fully logged in). Otherwise, webcam might not be correctly integrating into 'new environment' and not overriding the integrated camera correctly. I am not sure if there is another elegant solution to this, but all the plugging and unplugging didn't fix it for me. Also updating drivers, etc didn't fix it. And who wants to restart computer all the time
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same problem, I'm not sure if this is the best resolution but I just took a piece of paper & covered the camera. So if it continued to blink at least I knew nothing was being recorded. This might not be the best answer, but it works for me.
