Is this item compatible with a Google Chromebook? null

Moving the mouse, clicking (all buttons), the scroll wheel and sensitivity selector all work correctly on chromebook. You cannot change what the buttons do, nor can you change the lights, which are fixed on a slowly changing cycle.

Yes, this works with a Google Chromebook.
