Why? Unless you're trying to hear something special and/or you're trying to record separate tracks for editing, later, just use the mic on the Laptop.

unless you have some software that does this, i dont know of a way to make windows activate 2 input devices at once... so, if you have a way to make your app/program see 2 input devices (mics) at once, it doesnt matter if you use your laptop mic or a second headset mic. but either way, this headset has been a good experience.
