• mics are the same, inline controls are the only thing different, and better ear cups.

• I have used the Logitech H540 with Dragon Professional and it works very well for dictation. I cannot comment on the lower-priced H390; however,it appeared from the information on the box that the microphones were the same and the additional cost related to the sound quality and comfort of the earphones. Before you buy this item, beware that many users have reported that the H540 does not work on a USB 3 port. Your computer must have a USB 2 port.
