as long your smartphone has a working Bluetooth it will be able to connect

The cradle in the keyboard will support tablets with a max length of 10" or 258mm the Sony xperia tablet Z is 10.47" or 266mm so it won't fit long ways but you can stand it on it's side and use it that way, will give you vertical space just not horizontal space.
