• Yes, any light seems sufficient. I have four of them and have never had a dead battery. You could turn it off at night or weekends if its an issue. The solar panels charge it rapidly.

• That should be fine. Mine is near - but not real near - an outside window, so it mostly gets light from a halogen desk lamp. It's gone 7 years in that setup without losing power.

• Yes, I’ve used the keyboard under led and fluorescent lights for 7 years, even outside at Starbucks under only fair illumination and it is powered. A desk lamp could probably power it as long as the light hits the solar panels.
