By default (in OS 10.11.5 El Capitan), the F14 & F15 keys are redundant in that they change screen brightness - the same as F1 & F2. You can change that in System Prefs, under Keyboard>Shortcuts. You can uncheck them and reassign F14 & F15 to something else (find an item you want to change, click on the F-key text and type the actual F-key or combine with modifier keys. The key to the right of F15, as stated in previous Q&A's, is an indicator of sufficient / insufficient light for charging. If it lights green, you have sufficient light for charging. If it lights red, there is not enough light for charging. The "Solar App" on Apple's App Store is tied to the button. When launched (by clicking the button), it indicates level of charge currently in the battery as well as a light meter measuring Lux for current charging.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can not tell what the F13, F14, or F15 keys do? The half sun button to the right of the F15 key is used to indicate if the keyboard is low or fully charged. If you press the button and the led by the smile is green, it is charged. If the led by the frown is red, it needs charging.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's supposed to indicate if there is enough light in the environment to charge the keyboard
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not know the answer to the first question, but the button to the right of the F15 key checks the charge on the keyboard. You will notice to its right is a smily face and a frown. When you press the button, a green light comes on indicating adequate charge (smily face). Inadequate charge is the lower red light.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not sure what the F13, 14, and 15 keys do but the key to the right of the F15 key shows you if the keyboard is receiving enough light, hence the happy and frowny faces.
