Mice and keyboards are generally separate devices and both make their respective connections to the computer rather than through each other. However if you don’t have extra USB ports on your computer this keyboard uses Logitech’s unifying receiver which can connect multiple Logitech peripheral devices simultaneously using only one USB receiver.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The newer usb receivers are capable of using several wireless devices. I got this keyboard and a M705 mouse. I have the mouse and keyboard working on the usb that came with the keyboard and I'm not using the one that came with the mouse. You could use either one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You use the USB ports on the computer itself.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This keyboard is the bomb!! To answer your question, I was already using a wireless mouse with a wired backlit keyboard. For my wireless mouse I was using a multi ported USB accessory. This keyboard comes with the USB that connects to any one of those open ports, and presto magic, worked without any further troubles. I love the typing action of this keyboard and the fact that the light comes on only when your hand nears it. Well worth the purchase. Hope this helps you make your decision.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The keyboard has a dongle that plugs into a USB port. The dongle comes with the keyboard along with a cord that charges your keyboard. The dongle also ties your wireless mouse, keyboard together from a download that you get on the Logitech site. If you need extra ports I would suggest purchasing a portable hub also as that ensures that you don't run out of USB ports.
