The newer version does not seem to have this option. You can remove the small panel in the middle of the back just as you could with the older keyboards, but you will find no batteries. I also find myself having to charge the keyboard more often than I did with my previous Logitech illuminated.

Sadly, the new "quick recharging"--and quicker discharging--version does not. Open the back panel, where the batteries used to be, and you'll find white plastic.

Yep, its pretty easy- I actually bought a set of rechargeable AA's from Best Buy. I just googled 'changing Batteries in a K800'. tons of youtube videos.Hope this helped. Love my new K800!
