Hi. I thought I would offer my experience with the Logitech K800 Wireless Illuminated Keyboard and hopefully it will be helpful. I have been using Logitech keyboards from the time I got my first computer years ago. I have never had one I did not like or one that had problems, so as for their reputation, I highly recommend their keyboards and other products. As for which mouse will work with the K800 keyboard, there are several. The K800 keyboard comes with a unifying usb receiver, so any mouse that has the same unifying receiver compatibility will pair through Logitech's Unifying Software. The nice thing is it only requires you to use one receiver for several devices. I have used the following mice with my K800 keyboard: Logitech M310, M325, M510, M525, M705, M710, and the Performance MX Mouse. I have been using the Performance MX Mouse since it was released and now have two of them. I prefer it for the features it has and most importantly, it is comfortable and fits my hand better than the others. That is not to say the others I have used and still have are not comfortable or as good, it is just my personal preference. There are other options such as the M570 Trackball and MX Ergo Plus Wireless Trackball. I personally do not like trackball mice and have tried them as newly designed ones come out. I have yet to find one that works for me. So, as for compatible mice for the K800 keyboard, the ones I have mentioned above will work for you as I have all of them and have used them with the keyboard. I hope that will help. As for your question regarding the keyboard having soft keys, yes, the K800 keyboard does have soft keys. Just to give you a second take on "soft keys," the keys on the keyboard are very soft when typing and also very quiet. I have never had a keyboard that did not have soft keys and not sure I would because it makes things more convenient when in use. And I have never had a keyboard with keys that typed so softly and as quietly as the keys on the K800 keyboard. I have found this to be a great keyboard and probably would explain why I have two of them. It has some great features and you should not have any trouble finding a mouse that is compatible with the keyboard. I hope this has helped you and if you have any further questions let me know.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This keyboard will work with any mouse, but I would stick to the Logitech family, especially if you download the Logitech software.
