I guess I lucked out, got one with a couple of AA Eneloops at a thrift store that was covered with a fitted membrane protector so once I removed it it's basically brand new underneath - I didn't know there are versions that does not have the AA NiMH until I started researching it so I was pleasantly surprised since these days I wouldn't expect them to make things user serviceable. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is my first wireless keyboard, so I'm not familiar with your older version. I do know that I have had mine now for 3 weeks and after the initial charge, I have only plugged it in one time for like 30 min. I don't use it all day long, but I didn't even think about needing to charge it until I received an email from BB about it. I don't think you will have a problem keeping it charged up. Plus I am typing right now with it plugged into a wall plug usb. It has a nice long charging cable with it. I am very happy with my Logitech K800 keyboard. The primary reason I got it was that it was back lite and then being wireless was nice, but being rechargeable with a usb cable was great. For me not having to fool with batteries was a bonus, but everyone is different. It has a nice feel and is almost the exact size and layout of my old IBM keyboard that I've had since 2003. I have been looking for a replacement for a few years, but couldn't find one comparable in size and feel. I was thrilled to find the K800.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The older version is nearly impossible to find, once in a while on ebay but even then...
