This mouse comes with its' own receiver. For the price, it would be easier to just replace your old mouse with this one. Mine is currently being used with a desktop, and works great.

Yes, this mouse works great with a PC tower. I use with my work computer as my wireless mouse provided is very large and I have small hands. This is a comfortable fit. You can even put the USB in a space in the back of the PC tower to save any front USB for your portable memory or other devices. Hope this helps.
