• They are configurable. By default, they are set to fwd/back browser actions.

• No the buttons on the side are not configurable, they are for going forward and backward on web pages.

• You can set them up for anything you like I use them in a game I play to run some hot keys

• Left button acts the same as the left click button on your laptop while the right button does the same by pulling up addition functions that can be performed. The buttons aren't configurable.
