I've got both Apple keyboards and "off-brand" Apple designed keyboards and both are very good. I've got a portable Mac keyboard (a few years old) without a trackpad -- but then, I just bought the standalone Magic Trackpad (or whatever it's called) and the two work well if I'm out and need them for an iPad or my MacBook Pro. But I wouldn't suggest using a keyboard designed for Windows -- it might work... but you'll be less-than-happy because some of the Apple keys you rely on aren't there. Don't try to make a square peg fit in a round hole! :)
