• My keyboard automatically illuminates when I hover my hands over the keyboard. For me it works great and I love it.

• Hello, the smart illumination is supposed to sense your hands over the keyboard and turn on. If you have not done so already please download the Logitech Options Software in order to adjust these settings further.
