Will this setup work with a chrome book? null

as long as your Chromebook has Bluetooth or usb a then yes, it wont be able to use the software unless Logitech makes an app for it for the Chromebook.

It works via bluetooth perfectly, or plugged in, or with a USB.

It should. I have the original MX Master and it works well with my Samsung Galaxy Chromebook.
