No. The MAC version of this mouse is Bluetooth only. That's what makes it the Mac version as Macbooks are sparse on USB ports for dongles. The WINDOWS version of this mouse has a dongle. The USB-C cable is for charging the mouse.

The mouse and the keyboard (also Logitech) use a "unifying receiver" dongle which handles both devices.

Not necessary if you have Bluetooth. It can come in handy if you only have USB A. This does not come with the dongle but it does come with a USB C cable. The standard MX Master 3S comes with the dongle, no cable though it also works with the Mac. The only difference from each version is the color scheme and the accessories.
