• There are different versions of Bluetooth, my old laptop (2015) had an older version (didn't work). The Logitech needs the newer version of Bluetooth. If you have a USB-C slot, a USB-A to USB-C adapter will make the dongle work.

• This mouse works with my MacBook Pro, late 2021 M1 running macOS Monterey and syncs using Bluetooth but it does not work with my old MBP 2011 running High Sierra. Just a guess: the old MBP 2011 must use a very old Bluetooth version.

• Yes, it can do both BT and with their Unifying USB adaptor hidden in the battery compartment.

• No, according to the spec's it only communicates with it own reciever when plugged in to your USB port,
